Course Details and Assessment Methods
This course is designed to give you knowledge in understanding the effects and benefits of vitamin C, administering vitamin C, Regulations and Legislation and Safety protocols, Anatomy and Physiology relating to injections and record keeping and documentation to be able to administer Vitamin C injections safely and effectively.
Prerequisite requirements
Learners must have prior qualifications in anatomy and physiology and some nutritional knowledge.
Learners must have already achieved a minimum Level 3 or Level 4 (Ofqual Regulated) Beauty Qualification.
It is advised with accreditation that each trainer who delivers this activity is accredited in their own merit and hold a formal teaching qualification such as the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) as a minimum and suitable qualification/certification in this subject matter area.
The duration of this course is 8 hours. (1 full day)

- Introduction to Vitamin C injections – Role of Vitamin C and Deficiency, How injections work, Dosage and Methods, Allergies, Differences between oral supplements and injections, Key benefits, Compliance. Prescription only medications POM, contraindications
- Anatomy and Physiology related to vitamin C injections – Skin structure, Absorption and Distribution, Anatomy of injection sites
- Pharmacology of Vitamin C – Key Factors to consider, Potential Interactions, Management of adverse reactions, Medication and supplement interactions, Vitamins in nutrition and maintaining homeostasis
- Health and Safety Legislation – Regulations, Sterilisation, sharps, bloodborne pathogens, Infection control
- Preparation and Safety protocols – Administering the injection and techniques, Appropriate needle sizes and length, Post injection Protocol
- Client Aftercare and Advice – Post injection care and follow up
- Documentation and Record Keeping – Consultation and keeping legal records
- Treatment planning and recommendations
- Practical and Competency Assessment
