Terms and Conditions

Skintastic Academy: Terms and Conditions for Training Courses. Please read these terms before you book. By ticking the box at checkout and buying a course you agree to them. Your attention is drawn in particular to clauses 6, 7, 8, 11 and 14.

1. About us

Skintastic Aesthetic Lasers Ltd (company number 15949505), registered office 26 The Avenue, Southampton, SO17 1XL, trading as Skintastic Academy (“we”, “us”), runs the academy at 26 The Avenue, Southampton, SO17 1XL. Skintastic Aesthetic Lasers Ltd is not VAT registered. Contact us on WhatsApp at +44 7432 485017 or at info@skintasticaesthetics.com. We are an approved CPD provider (The CPD Group, provider number 777800).

2. What these terms cover

These terms apply to every course you buy from us (the “Course”). A Course may include online learning (videos, slides, quizzes and downloads, “Online Materials”), a supervised practical day at our academy (“Practical Day”), assessment, and a certificate. What your Course includes is shown on its course page. These terms, the course page and your order confirmation are the whole agreement between us.

Our courses are CPD (continuing professional development) courses unless the course page says otherwise. A CPD course is not a regulated qualification and carries no qualification level. Credits and accreditation details are shown on each course page; where accreditation is shown as applied for, credits are not confirmed until The CPD Group approves the course.

3. Who can book

You must be at least 18. Each course has entry requirements shown on its course page (for example Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology and a recognised Core of Knowledge certificate). It is your responsibility to check that you meet them before you book. We may ask for proof and may refuse a Practical Day, without refund, if you do not meet them and did not tell us before booking.

Whether a course will allow you to be insured, or to offer a treatment, is decided by your insurer and, where relevant, your local authority. We do not promise that any course will satisfy your insurer. Please check with your insurer before you book.

4. Ordering and acceptance

Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation and give you access to the Course. We may decline an order, for example if a course is full or the price was clearly shown in error, and will refund any payment taken.

5. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to Course prices. Payment is taken in full when you order, by the payment methods shown at checkout. Course fees are charged for the Course as a whole; no part is refunded because you do not use part of it.

6. Your right to cancel (consumers only)

This clause applies if you are buying as a consumer, meaning for purposes mainly outside your trade, business or profession. If you are buying for your business, you have no statutory right to cancel and clause 7 applies.

Online Materials. You have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of buying, but this right is lost for digital content once we have started to provide it if you have expressly agreed to that and acknowledged that you lose your right to cancel. At checkout you will be asked to tick a box to give that consent and acknowledgement. By ticking it, access to the Online Materials starts straight away and you lose the right to cancel those Online Materials.

Practical Day. If you book a Practical Day you may cancel within 14 days of buying and before the Practical Day takes place, and we will refund you in full less a fair amount for any services already provided at your express request. If you ask us to start any part of the service within the 14 days, you must pay a proportionate amount for what has been provided up to the time you tell us you have changed your mind.

To cancel, tell us clearly in writing (an email is enough) giving your name, order number and the Course. Refunds are made to the original payment method within 14 days of us receiving your cancellation.

7. Refunds after the cancellation period

Once the 14 day cancellation period has ended, or you are buying as a business, Courses are non refundable. This includes where you change your mind, fail to meet entry requirements you did not disclose, cannot attend, fail an assessment, or find that your insurer will not cover you. Nothing in this clause affects your statutory rights, including your right to a repair, replacement or refund where a Course is not as described or is not provided with reasonable care and skill.

If you believe something is wrong with a Course, tell us within 14 days of finding the problem so that we can put it right, which may be by correcting the content, giving you further support, or rebooking you onto a Practical Day.

8. Booking, moving and cancelling a Practical Day

Practical Days are booked in advance and places are limited. You may move your Practical Day once, free of charge, if you tell us in writing at least 14 days before it. If you tell us less than 14 days before, or do not attend, or arrive too late to take part safely, the Practical Day is treated as used and the fee is not refunded or credited. A further date may be offered at our discretion for a rebooking fee of 25% of the price you paid for the Course.

We may need to ask you to leave a Practical Day without refund if you behave unsafely or in a way that disrupts others, attend under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or do not follow the instructions of trainers or the health and safety rules.

9. If we change or cancel

We may change dates, trainers, venues or the order of content where we reasonably need to. If we cancel a Practical Day, we will offer you another date or a refund of the fee for that Practical Day, and that is our only liability for the cancellation. We are not responsible for travel, accommodation or other costs you have booked.

10. Online Materials: access and licence

We grant you a personal, non transferable, non exclusive licence to use the Online Materials for your own study for 12 months from the date of purchase. You must not share your login, copy, record, distribute, resell or publish the Online Materials, including by screen recording, or use them to teach others. We may suspend or end your access without refund if you break this clause. All content, videos, slides and workbooks belong to us and Carla Cooper-Gale and are protected by copyright.

We may update Online Materials from time to time to reflect changes in law and best practice.

11. Assessment and certificates

Your certificate is issued only when you have completed all required parts of the Course and passed the assessments described on the course page, which may include quizzes, a written assessment, a Practical Day and trainer sign off. Passing is decided by us. Where a re-sit or further practical is needed we may charge a reasonable fee. We may withhold or withdraw a certificate if it was obtained by cheating, copying or dishonesty, if you did not meet the entry requirements, or if payment is outstanding.

A certificate confirms completion of training. It is not a licence to practise, a regulated qualification, or confirmation that you are insured or competent to treat in every circumstance.

12. Your responsibilities and health

You must tell us before the Practical Day about any health condition, medication, allergy, pregnancy or other matter that could affect your safety or that of others, and follow all safety instructions. You must use the techniques you learn only on suitable clients and within the law, your insurance conditions and your own competence. You are responsible for your own consultations, records, consent, insurance and treatments after the Course.

Practical Days involve live models and real equipment. You take part at your own risk, subject to clause 14.

13. No guarantee of results

We do not guarantee any particular outcome from a Course, including employment, income, insurance cover, or results of any treatment you later perform. Information in the Course is educational and does not replace manufacturer instructions, your insurer, medical advice or your own professional judgement.

14. Our liability: please read carefully

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited or excluded, and nothing affects your statutory consumer rights.

Subject to that, if you are a consumer we are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of our breach or negligence, but not for losses that were not foreseeable. If you are a business, we are not liable for loss of profit, income, business, goodwill or data, or for indirect or consequential loss.

Subject to the first paragraph of this clause, our total liability to you for all claims arising from a Course is limited to the price you paid for that Course.

15. Data protection

We use your personal data to provide the Course, issue certificates and keep the records required by our accrediting bodies. Please see our privacy policy for details of what we collect, how long we keep it and your rights.

16. Complaints

If you are unhappy, please tell us in writing as soon as possible so that we can investigate and reply. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to respond fully within 14 days. This does not affect your legal rights.

17. Events outside our control

We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, including illness of a trainer, severe weather, power or internet failure, equipment failure, industrial action or public health restrictions. We will rearrange affected Practical Days at the earliest opportunity.

18. General

We may transfer our rights under these terms to another company; you may not transfer yours without our written agreement. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a right straight away we do not lose it. No one else has a right to enforce these terms. We may update these terms; the version in force when you order applies to your Course.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring claims in your local courts.
